The renowned entertainment conglomerate that is Disney not long ago came to an agreement with their fellow industry giant, Sony, in order to produce a collaborative Spider-Man movie starring the English actor Tom Holland.

Consequently, ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ and Tom’s portrayal of Spider-Man thereafter was undeniably a success, however, now it looks like it could all be at risk due to a fallout between the two companies.

Specifically, as Deadline reports, Marvel Studios and president Kevin Feige will no longer be producing future Spider-Man films due to Disney trying, but failing to re-negotiate their contract with Sony. To be even more precise, the first deal the two companies saw Marvel Studios only receive a small percentage – around 5 – of co-produced solo film grosses in exchange for using the character in MCU movies like Avengers: Infinity War.

However, one thing Marvel didn’t anticipate was the success of the franchise, in fact, now that ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ became Sony’s highest-grossing film of all time, Marvel wants to split future film profits 50/50, but Sony will not accept, with no counter-offer for a higher percentage even being offered.

We will have to wait and see how the news unfolds from here, stay tuned.
