It’s not surprising that a number of studios are delaying the release of their films given that there is no way for people to gather at cinemas. Some have looked to release their flicks through streaming platforms, but, sadly for Spider-Man fans, Sony Pictures have decided to delay theirs instead.

Specifically, Spider-Man 3 and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 have both been put on hold, due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. As for when they will be out, reports have claimed that the Marvel-Sony’s Spider-Man 3 will be premiering on November 5, 2021 instead of July 16, 2021. Sony Pictures Animation’s Into the Spider-Verse 2 will see a drop date of the 7th of October 2022 rather than the original date of the 8th of April, 2022.

This news has confused many given that it wasn’t long ago that Disney teased their MCU Phase 4 release schedule, on which we saw the new premiere dates of Black Widow, The Eternals, Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder and Captain Marvel 2. I guess we will have to wait and see how this plays out.
