After unveiling the collaborative Nike Air Jordan 1 at their pre-fall 2020 show in Miami, and having Travis Scott flex their sneaker on Instagram, Dior just gave us an even closer look at the highly sought-after shoe.

As for what to expect, the limited-edition Dior x Air Jordan 1 High OG looks to the instantly recognisable silhouette for its main attraction, with the only exception being the Dior branding that appears within Nike’s iconic Swoosh.

As for what Nike and Jordan think of the joint venture, Martin Lotti, the VP of Design for the Jordan Brand stated that: “Our partnership with Maison Dior will offer a new look into the style of basketball and blend high-end streetwear with luxury fashion. We will pay homage to both brands’ rich iconography and draw inspiration from our heritage.”

Kim Jones’ goal was to make “the most luxurious Air Jordan 1 ever.” He went about this by having the whole pair crafted in Italy from a mixture of white and Dior Gray leather. Furthermore, the introduction of translucent soles reveal the duo’s branding below, this added with hand-painted edges lead to the creation of arguably the most premium basketball shoe of all time.

It’s being reported that since the Air Jordan 1 was designed in 1985, Dior and Nike have only made 8,500 pairs of the collaborative high-top, with a further 4,700 low-top versions also released.
