When the iPhone XS was created as a cheaper alternative for the iPhone X, Apple was sure that the new device was going to be a success, however, now that the numbers have come in, the tech conglomerate have seen that they have fallen rather short.
Specifically, Apple had made an agreement with Samsung that the South Korean tech company would provide the screens for the new XS and XS Max models. However, after the device’ numbers didn’t reach Samsung’s quota it forced Apple to restart manufacturing the iPhone X in order to make up the missing sales. This, of course, wasn’t a part of the plan, especially considering that according to the Wall Street Journal, Apple has cut production orders for all three of its newest iPhone’s because of low demand.
As for why this happened, many observers believe that the low sales were due to the lack of improvements between the iPhone 8 and the iPhone XS and XS Max that justified the approximate $500 difference in price (that being between the base model of the iPhone 8 and iPhone XS Max.) One thing is for sure, Apple is going to have to pull something special out of the bag for their next phone to avoid losing its customer’s faith.
