For the past 8 years Chris Evans has been playing the iconic Marvel character, Captain America, however, judging by his most recent tweet it looks like the actor is going to be hanging up the shield after the forthcoming Avengers movie.
Specifically, March this year was the first time Evans hinted at the move as he stated to the New York Times that “you want to get off the train before they push you off.” Now, however, it looks like he is making things a little more clear as he took to Twitter to thank his audience, fellow actors and crew members for the memories he has had during the last 8 years of playing the role.
As for what this means for Cap in Avengers 4, some believe that this is going to inevitably lead to his death, however, others have pointed at the possibility that as the Avengers travel back in time (one theory of what will take place during the upcoming movie) he will decide to go back and stay in the past, possibly in time for his dance with Peggy. I guess we will have to just wait and see.
Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful.
