Converse’s collaborative relationship with Tyler, the Creator is almost reaching the five-year mark, and to celebrate it appears the duo are offering an exclusive yet customisable release. Unsurprisingly, the Golf Wang x Converse collab is focusing on the Chuck 70, one of the footwear brand’s most iconic silhouettes.
Specifically, The Golf By You experience will be open for 24 hours and will give customers in the United States and Western Europe an opportunity to design and purchase a pair of customized sneakers.
As for what you can work with, Converse is reintroducing classic Golf Wang logos from the archives to go along with six base colours and several other customizable aspects. The launch will give fans an opportunity to design a shoe that could be truly unique, with more than 100,000 possible combinations.
The Chuck 70 will be available to customize in green, red, yellow, blue, white, and black canvases. Customers can then select from five Golf Wang “Heritage” logos, which will land on the lateral side of the shoe, while Converse’s vintage star ankle patch will be on the medial side. Among the five logos included are callbacks to prior Converse x Golf Wang collaborations, including the Converse x GOLF le FLEUR* Chenille and Tri-Panel. A polka dot lining option also calls back to the Golf Wang x Converse “Polka Dot” Chuck 70 Hi from Holiday 2020.
