Kanye West’s YEEZY GAP endeavour has announced they will be joining forces with Balenciaga, for what they are calling, YEEZY GAP ENGINEERED BY BALENCIAGA.
Balenciaga’s creative director, Demna Gvasalia, has worked closely with Ye; dressing him throughout his various DONDA events. Balenciaga also worked with Ye to create an “Engineered By Balenciaga” merch line for DONDA.
Considering their history, it shouldn’t come as a surprise Ye (and YEEZY GAP) are working with Balenciaga. In a press release, YEEZY GAP stated, “This first of its kind launch sees ye’s peerless vision bring together the most influential designer of his generation, Demna, with [the] iconic American brand, gap. YEEZY GAP engineered by Balenciaga continues ‘Ye’s commitment to bringing creativity to the forefront and delivering his vision of utilitarian design for all.”
