With the demand for Vegan products continuing to increase, the German sportswear company have looked to answer with a brand new pack of V-friendly sneakers.

Specifically, adidas Originals has returned to two of its classic silhouettes, the Samba and the Continental 80, looking to swap the leather and suede out for something animal-free. The new vegan pack, dubbed “Our Icons go Vegan”, sees the two sneakers constructed from a PU-coated recycled polyester upper.

However, that’s not all, the adidas Continental 80 goes a step further by featuring a midsole constructed from an algae-based EVA foam. Not only are no animals harmed in the making of this new material, but it’s production process consequently cleans at least 30 litres of polluted lake water.

When it comes to the design, the colourways and branding remains true to the originals. The only aesthetic-based change that have been made is a small embossed patch which identifies the sneakers’ vegan credentials.

Take a look at the “Our Icons go Vegan” pack below, if you like what you see then head over to adidas Originals online store to cop a pair for yourself.
