Just this month the 20-year-old rapper that is Pop Smoke released his second mixtape, Meet the Woo 2, featuring a number of notable appearances from the likes of Quavo, Fivio Foreign and Lil Tjay. Many, including him, were confident that he was on a meteoric rise within the music industry, however, now it has been confirmed that the young American was tragically killed as a consequence of a robbery.
The rapper, who also featured on Travis Scott’s 2019 track Gatti, was reportedly killed in a home invasion robbery just hours after uploading a number of videos of his pad to his social media accounts. Specifically, reports by TMZ outline that the musician died after being shot by thugs wearing masks.
As of yet, not many more details are known regarding the events that took place at his house in the Hollywood Hills. What we do know is that in the early hours of Wednesday morning, two masked men broke in. The men fired multiple shots, critically wounding Pop Smoke before fleeing on foot.
The rapper was reportedly rushed by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood where he was later pronounced dead. Our thoughts and prayers go out the everyone who has been impacted by this tragic loss.
