About G-SHOCK.

“Creating a watch that never breaks” was the goal that G-SHOCK set their targets on over 30-years-ago. Since then, the brand has come a long way, carving a path to arguably what is the #1 regarding resilient watch-making.

Interestingly, it was 1983 that saw the first G-SHOCK arrive, something which came courtesy of Casio engineer Kikuo Ibe. However, since then times have changed, in fact, G-SHOCK is most recently celebrating the release of a brand new GMWB5000V iteration, adding to the already extensive library of the model.

What to expect from “Full Metal”?

To be precise, the piece arrives with a new metal finish, a consequence of black ion-plating that has been weathered for a unique industrial aesthetic. As well as this, expect a stainless steel shock-resistant case, Super Illuminator LED backlight, DLC-coated back, Bluetooth connectivity and even solar-powered functionality.

To celebrate the release of the “Full Metal” collection, G-SHOCK hosted a launch event in the heart of London, something that also acted as a 2nd birthday party for the brand’s Carnaby Street flagship. While there, visitors could purchase the watch and even brush shoulders with G-SHOCK’s Head of Watch Design, Mr Moriai, who actually spearheaded the creation of the bestselling “Full Metal” collection.

Take a look at the imagery below, if you like the look of the watch then head over to G-SHOCK’s site to find out more.
