The Hubble Telescope has been responsible for some of the most amazing images of our universe over the last 25 years. However, one of its latest photos could be one of its most mesmerizing.

Specifically, the telescope recently beamed back an image of one particular spiral galaxy, something that the star-gazers themselves stated is one of the universe’s most iconic residents. As for what makes it so fascinating, it’s located about 30 million light-years away in the constellation of Leo, also known as ‘The Lion’. Consequently, the image we see is actually what the galaxy looked like while humans hadn’t evolved passed apes and old-world monkeys.

As well as this, this image was actually taken as a part of a study that aimed to further specify the relationship between black holes and the “rugby-ball-shaped bulge of stars, gas, and dust at the galaxy’s centre”.
