The renowned British designer that is Jonathan Anderson has yet again directed his namesake label into joining forces with the brand’s long-time collaborative partner, Converse, in order to drop another range of spring/summer-ready footwear.
As for what to expect, the two have chosen to re-design Converse’s most beloved and iconic model, the Chuck Taylor, while also reintroducing its functionally-revamped cousin, the Run Star Hike, in a new sleek monochromatic colourway.
Specifically, the Chuck Taylor in question arrives sporting an upper that focuses on paying tribute to the brand’s American heritage, doing so via dressing the canvas with the country’s flag. However, it doesn’t do this conventionally, in fact, JW Anderson’s instantly recognizable monogram is used as the design’s base, while the left and right shoe sports the red and blue elements of the flag separately for added effect.
However, when it comes to the Run Star Hike things are a little more simple. For this offering, a sleek all-black canvas is used to prove less can, in fact, be more. Instead, the shoe relies on the pair’s contrasting midsole and eye-catching outsole to pack the aesthetic punch, rounding itself off with Converse branding found ankle and treaded heel.
Take a look at the pairs below, if you like what you see then you are in luck as the Converse x JW Anderson Run Star Hike and Americana Chuck 70 will be available on 18th of April.
