Any fans of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ films might be excited to hear that the movie’s writer and director is set to turn his hand to yet another superhero film, although this time it will be on the side of Marvel’s biggest competitor, DC. Specifically, with Warner Bros. set to drop yet another ‘Suicide Squad,’ rumours started circulating that the American filmmaker, actor, novelist, and musician, James Gunn, is up for consideration to have a writing and possibly directing role in the movie.

After Gunn was fired from Marvel Studios due to the resurfacing of what some may find offensive Tweets, the creative is likely going to put down his pen for Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and pick it up for what seems like a calculated advance on Disney following the backlash against the entertainment conglomerate for their decision to remove Gunn. As for what the next ‘Suicide Squad’ might consist of, it has been confirmed that the film will not be a sequel, but instead an entirely new approach to the storyline, allowing Gunn to potentially reimagine the franchise.
