The iconic American-based provider of home movie and video game rental services, Blockbuster, halted their operations back in the November of 2013 due to the rise of streaming services. For some, this was a tragic event as their childhood was filled with days at the stores, however, now everyone has a chance to reminisce and revisit one of the company’s retail spaces while it’s open for just two days in London.

Specifically, to promote the DVD release of Deadpool, every shelf in the recreated Blockbuster store in Shoreditch will be filled with copies of Deadpool,  1989 of which are completely free in order to pay homage to the year the rental chain first opened on the UK high street in Kennington, London. Furthermore, if you find their original Blockbuster Video membership card you are able to jump the queue and claim a limited-edition VHS case that holds a digital download code for the film.

If you are in the Shoreditch area make sure you swing through on one of the two days it’s available to visit, with the doors opening on the 17th of September.
