Although Stan Lee is widely recognised for creating the Marvel Universe there was another man behind the scenes who put in his work but preferred to avoid the spotlight by routinely turning down interviews and appearances. Specifically, Steve Ditko, the artist who helped bring many of Stan’s creations alive, revolutionized the way we saw comics and his work propelled him to legendary status in the comic book world.

Well, it is with great sadness to report that the co-creator of characters such as Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, the Green Goblin, Gwen Stacy and the Lizard has unfortunately passed away at the age of 90 with the New York Police Department announcing that the iconic comic book artist and writer passed away late last month. This is a sad day for comic book fans everywhere but luckily his legacy will live on, continuing to grow an industry that is entertaining and engaging with millions of people across the globe.
