After coming under recent pressure to possibly pay out a cool $100 million, Dr. Dre is rumoured to be hard at work developing a new Marvin Gaye biopic. Specifically, theories came out in the dozens as it has been confirmed that the American rapper, record producer and entrepreneur has bought the rights to Gaye’s music off of Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
However, this isn’t the first time this story has tried to be told, in fact, Gaye’s life has previously tried to be depicted by many directors and produces in the past but no one came as close to playing the character as Jamie Foxx who gained the blessings from Gaye’s family to portray the legendary singer back in 2016. However, since then not much has been heard from the TV series so it looks like Dre is in a strong position to be the one who tells the story once and for all. This is something that Andre Young (Dr. Dre) will be incredibly passionate about and wont take lightly as the artist has used and drawn inspiration from Marvin Gaye’s work since the beginning of his career.
