The American singer, songwriter, rapper, record producer and photographer, Frank Ocean, is set to be the subject of a course that is going to run for the first time this Autumn at the University of California, Berkeley.
Titled “Brain Like Berkeley” the course was Pitched by student, Preya Gill and her roommate Deborah Chang, in hope to offer “insight into the artistry” behind the renowned musician’s work. However, don’t think this will all be fun and games, the material will be taught in the same way that any other course would, and that’s with a structured and intellectual approach, putting not only Ocean’s songs under the microscope, but also his music videos, album covers and live performances in order to extract the philosophy, historical influences, poetry, politics, and symbolism involved.
If this is the course for you then you are in luck as registration is officially open.
