It seems Facebook has been slowly trying to take over all other platforms in recent times and yet again we have an example of the social media giants trying to compete with yet another tech competitor, Twitch. Specifically, Facebook announced a new gaming platform titled Fb.gg, a name that nods its head to the gaming community as players commonly use ‘gg’ at the end of sessions as a shortened version of ‘good game’.

The upcoming platform will allow users to follow their favourite gamers, watch their streams live and even donate a virtual currency to them through the Facebook Star feature. Furthermore, Facebook promises that you will be able to access the action in a central location instead of having to wade through your newsfeed to find your favourite content. Furthermore, Fb.gg will also allow up and coming gamers to access the site’s Level Up program that will give gamers the ability to easily share high-quality content, receive a special profile badge as well as gain access to some of the platforms beta features before they are widely released to the public. As for whether this will allow the new platform to compete with the likes of Twitch and Youtube, we will have to wait and see.
