With the football World Cup fast approaching everyone is getting excited to get behind their favourite teams, but no one has gained as much support as Nigeria.

Interestingly, the country released their kit approximately three months ago now, yet it has completely sold out, stacking up over 3 million jersey sales overall leading to the kit becoming the most highly pre-order kit to date.

To put this in perspective, Manchester United, who are home to the most bought kits worldwide based on yearly sales, sold just 1.75 million jerseys per year on average between the years 2011 to 2016. This means that if Nigeria were able to sell jerseys at this rate for a whole year, they would top the previous record by almost 7 times.

This huge demand has now let re-sellers charge double, or even triple, the original retail price successfully to fans of the kit on platforms such as eBay, Grailed or Depop, reaching prices of up to £240 in some cases.
