YouTube have just announced a new policy that is designed to penalize creators who post harmful content on the platform. The reform has been put in place after the latest controversy surrounding the YouTuber Logan Paul. Paul, who came under fire recently for posting a video of a suicide victims body hanging, has been up to his usual idiotic antics by uploading a video in which he tasers a dead rat and gives a live fish ‘CPR’ after it was taken out of the water. However, this time YouTube has taken action by taking away the channels ability to serve ads and access monetization services like Google Preferred and YouTube Partner Program. Furthermore, YouTube says it will also reserve the right to stop recommending a channel’s videos across its network if the channel is seen as harmful to the YouTube community.

Let’s hope that this system will be able to tell the difference between creators who are toxic and those who are simply pushing the boundaries.
