Nike and NIGO have officially launched their long-awaited collaboration, starting with the Air Force 3 Low “Blue Void” and a collection of apparel. The debut project between the designer and the sportswear brand includes a blend of cultural references from NIGO’s favourite films and television shows, reflected in both the footwear and clothing.
The Air Force 3 Low “Blue Void” features a mixture of embossed leathers, a rubber outsole, midsole foam, and graphic accents on the tongue and heel. The colour palette includes Blue Void, University Red, Tour Yellow, and Pink Foam, all in all, the pair will set you back $160.
In a statement, NIGO expressed his excitement about the collaboration, calling the Air Force 3 a “hidden masterpiece” that he loved in the past. “Through my first collaboration with Nike, I want to reintroduce everyone to its magnificence,” he said. He also mentioned that his visit to Nike’s headquarters inspired much of the design and that more projects are in the works.
The apparel collection includes a varsity jacket and hoodie, both of which are infused with NIGO’s signature style and cultural influences. The full collection will be released on September 28 at Otsumo Plaza in Tokyo and at the “I Know NIGO 2” pop-up in New York, followed by a SNKRS release on October 4.
