The Alchemist has dropped his first solo studio album of 2024, The Genuine Articulate. Known for his production work on numerous projects throughout the year—such as Black & Whites with Big Hit and Hit-Boy, and Heads I Win, Tails You Lost alongside Gangrene and Oh No—this latest release showcases his skills as both a producer and rapper.
The eight-track album features a roster of frequent collaborators, including Conway the Machine and Larry June. ScHoolboy Q makes an appearance on the track “Ferraris in the Rain,” which was the album’s lead single. Other notable contributions come from Action Bronson and Big Body Bes on “Minnesota Fats,” as well as Havoc on “Scientology.”
One of the album’s standout moments is The Alchemist’s solo track, “Everybody’s Favorite Uncle,” where he raps, “The only one who stood in the wreckage when the dust settled / You lay a hand on me and get infected from the rust metal.”
Ahead of this album, The Alchemist had been busy contributing to other artists’ projects, such as Big Sean’s “Together Forever” and A$AP Rocky and J. Cole’s “Ruby Rosary.”
The Genuine Articulate is now available for streaming on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
