FILA is stepping into the future with FILA+, a new line that revamps its classic sportswear with a contemporary edge. The brand tapped streetwear mastermind Lev Tanju, founder of Palace, to helm this creative venture.
Tanju’s vision for FILA+ is to reimagine the brand’s iconic silhouettes through a modern lens. Expect fresh takes on classic pieces, incorporating updated materials and bold design elements. This move reflects FILA’s commitment to staying relevant while honouring its rich sporting heritage.
“I was blown away by FILA’s extensive archive and loved all of it,” Tanju says. “Pierluigi Rolando’s innovative spirit and FILA’s Italian heritage were huge inspirations for me.”
This inspiration is evident in subtle tweaks to the FILA+ logo, featuring a brighter red and green that nods to the Italian flag. Tanju emphasizes, “FILA’s Italian roots will be at the core of FILA+.”
Global Brand President of FILA, Todd Klein, sees Tanju’s appointment as a strategic move aligned with their vision: “This partnership underscores FILA’s ambition to be a sportswear leader and reach a new generation of consumers.”
The first FILA+ collection is set to debut later this month. It promises a fusion of classic sportswear designs with contemporary streetwear sensibilities. With Tanju’s renowned creative direction, FILA+ is poised to redefine athletic apparel, offering a fresh perspective on style and performance for a new era.
