Phillips auctioneers will be showing a new exhibition later this month, showcasing the last 50 years of graffiti culture. Curated by Arnold Lehman and Elizabeth Wallace, “1970s / GRAFFITI / TODAY” presents a study into the various styles of graffiti writing and the surrounding culture.
The display is comprised of over 150 works loaned by artists, galleries and private collectors. The works on display include early pioneers, such as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Lee Quiñones, along with Mister Cartoon and Haze.
1970s / GRAFFITI / TODAY will be on view at Phillips New York from January 13 to February 20, 2022. You can find more information on the show on the Phillips Website.
