Vans is bringing everyone closer, to rebuild and revitalise communities across the world in honour of Vans Checkerboard Day. For 2021 Vans have teamed up with the global non-profit organisation, to encourage young people to take action through arts and culture.

This year Vans will support 16 charities from around the world in their mission to revitalise public spaces through arts, sports, culture and social impact programming by donating $1 million USD. Each organisation will receive $50,000 USD from Vans through the Tides Foundation or via a direct donation from Vans to use towards their mission.

In London this year, grassroots community skatepark, Hackney Bumps are using their $50,000 USD donation to build a new obstacle. They tasked their local community to submit designs for the new obstacle and are inviting the public to skate it on the day.
