Merging traditional shoemaking heritage with Haven’s pragmatic approach to design, Dr. Martens are collaborating with the renowned Canadian retailer for a premium take on our 1461 shoe that’s an embodiment of subcultural style.
The Canadian streetwear brand that is Haven has developed quite a reputation for curating innovative and high-quality stock. Founded by brothers Daniel and Arthur Chmielewski in 2006, Haven evolved into one of Canada’s first streetwear stores, focusing on both Canadian culture and the four seasons that are so distinct there.
For this venture, Dr. Martens’ took Haven’s stripped back, functional characteristics and merged it with one of their most popular silhouettes, the 1461 work shoe. Crafted in Dr. Martens’ Wollaston factory, the MIE 1461 Haven shoe is built from a mix of leathers from one of the most prestigious British tanneries – C. F. Stead.
In line with Haven’s seasonal, mixed-material aesthetic, the shoe is made with a C. F. Stead Classic Calf leather upper and C. F. Stead Culatta full-grain leather guard and backstrap. All of this is then rounded off with a dual-branded sock liner, Culatta tannery tag and arrives with bespoke packaging.
