The London-based running club, Run The Boroughs, has partnered with New Balance in order to celebrate this year’s Virgin Money London Marathon. As for how the duo are celebrating the event, a Run The Boroughs x New Balance 991 is going to be dropped at the end of this month.
Inspired by the dark concrete roads and rain clouds of London, the 991 sports a monochromatic colourway with the only exception being the “N” found on the inside and outside of the pairs. This “N” arrives in an electric blue, something nearly as vivid as the 3M detailing that appears across the sneakers.
When it comes to construction, the 991 comes with a mixture of suede, nubuck, textured leather and mesh, all of which sit upon the classic ABZORB cushioning system that provides extra comfort for long leans at the bar. To celebrate the launch, Run The Boroughs will be hosting a competition via their Instagram page, @runtheboroughs, for 10 lucky winners to earn a pair of the 991’s by joining the RTB crew on a run through East London on September 27th. The competition will go live on Monday, September 20th and run until the 24th, with winners announced the following day. To enter the competition, entrants must follow @runtheboroughs on Instagram and follow the instructions shared on the 20th of September.
The Run The Boroughs Virgin Money London Marathon MiUK 991 retails for £190 and launches on September 29th via END., Footpatrol, SNS, Browns and Offspring, alongside The Virgin Money London Marathon Expo, New Balance UK website and the London Flagship store.
