The American rapper, songwriter, and actor that is DMX tragically passed away on the 9th of April. After the news broke, there was no shortage of tributes, something that isn’t surprising given the millions of people he inspired and entertained in his 50-year life.
Out of all the tributes, YEEZY and Balenciaga’s particularly stands out. This is because the duo teamed up for a collaborative tribute tee that is donating all of its proceeds to the rapper’s family. As for what the item looks like, the Demna Gvasalia-designed top sees Balenciaga offer a baggy silhouette, likely taken from Kanye West‘s YEEZY label.
From here, the long sleeve tee boasts original DMX artwork that has been screen-printed on the chest. The aesthetic is clearly 90’s-inspired, with a slight faded effect being added. “12.18.1970” is then printed on the right sleeve while the left instead reads “04.09.2021.” Rounding off the tribute piece is “IN LOVING MEMORY” placed at the rear.
