Vault by Vans is back and this time they’re not alone. In fact, they’ve been joined by the Brooklyn-based screen-printing and design collective LQQK Studio.
As for why, the two want to follow up on their previous collaboration from 2018, this time looking to offer more than ever. Specifically, LQQK Studio, founded by the Alex Dondero, Paul Bryant, Max Feuer, Martin Davis and Joe Garvey, are wanting to provide not only sneakers and apparel but also five different radio takeovers.
This Holiday 2020 season, Vault by Vans and LQQK Studio are dropping a six-shoe capsule, all of which feature the Circle V theme that seemed to be a received well in 2018. The collection features the OG Style 17 Mule LX in honeycomb and the OG Chukka LX in burgundy, both of which give a nod to the workwear resurgence in both colour and materials. The OG Style 17 Mule LX and OG Chukka LX also come in Splatter ink iterations, as well as a natural colourway.
When it comes to apparel, expect a quarter-zip sweater, sweatpants as well as a boxy oversized long sleeve shirt. The latter comes in black and bright orange and boasts a retro form of Vans branding that utilises a colour-gradient effect. On the other hand, the quarter-zip and sweatpants are available in black and ash heather.
Kicking off on November 17 and continuing through November 21, the previously mentioned radio events consist of five consecutive NTS x LQQK Studio takeovers. Each day a different NYC collective will present a two-hour show on NTS, run in conjunction with in-store zine printing at the Vault by Vans store in NYC on Bowery. The broadcasts will be supported by a one-off zine, A CLOSER LOOK: NYC, which will explore the vital work undertaken by the collectives featured in this collaboration.
Take a look at the Vault by Vans x LQQK Studio collaboration below. If you like what you see then you’re in luck as the range will be available in select Vault by Vans accounts on the 21st of November.
