Sneakerheads around the world are excited to hear that COMME des GARÇONS’ deconstructed collaboration with Nike is set to arrive this week. This is one of several ventures the two have worked on, however, never before have they focused on such an untraditional construction.
Yet again, Nike and CDG have turned their attention to the Air Force 1 Mid silhouette. This isn’t surprising given that the model has become one of the most iconic styles within streetwear. However, for this Autumn/Winter season the two have looked to add a premium touch to the construction. Consequently, the new AF1 not only features higher-quality leather but features it in excess due to the added layers and panels.
As well as this, the leather pieces have their edges left raw, while the tongue is treated with an exposed foam finish. Last but not least, the pair is rounded off with COMME des GARÇONS’ branding around the collar, and Nike branding on the heel.
