When you think of electric cars you often think of Elon Musk’s brainchild, Tesla. However, it looks like the California-based company that is Lucid Motors are coming for the top spot.
As expected, everyone is focusing on the performance stats first, with the Lucid Air pulling in a mind-hurting 1,080 horsepower. Not only does this top Tesla’s efforts, but also Porsche‘s when it comes to their all-electric Taycan. As for how the Lucid Air achieves this, the car boasts a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive configuration that can glide a quarter-mile in just 9.9 seconds.
However, despite all of these speed-related stats, Lucid Motors‘ Air is meant to be able to cover 517 miles on a single charge as long as you are driving conservatively. Furthermore, with just thirty minutes of charge, the car can supposedly travel 300 miles. This is partly due to the fact that it’s the most aerodynamic luxury car in the world, with a drag coefficiency of just 0.21.
When it comes to the interior, there is a 34-inch 5K curved glass cockpit display and a retractable central pilot pane. As well as this, expect a windshield that reaches as far back as a terrible hairline. Rounding off the car is the “world’s most advanced lighting technology” and “the next level in ADAS [advanced driver-assistance systems].”
Take a look at Lucid Motors’ Air below. If you like what you see then start saving up as you can expect the car by Spring 2021, setting you back $169,000.
