The elusive British illustrator, graphic artist and designer that is Fergus Purcell have often chosen to remain out of the spotlight despite his creative work making major impacts across the art and fashion industry. Having said that, Vans have been able to get a hold of him in order to follow up on their recent Corner Shop capsule.
As for what the two have worked on, this second joining of forces has focused on applying Fergus’ style to an OG Authentic and OG Chukka, each in a retro, acid wash colorway. “The acid wash design is based on a memory from my youth, of coveting a pair of acid wash Vans when they came out around the late ‘80s,” Fergus said, adding: “I’ve collided this memory with— for no reason at all, let’s call it surreal—contemporary scratch card imagery, perhaps creating shoes that are lucky and will bring a big win.”
Consequently, the forthcoming offerings are summer-ready and provide a great a staple for those looking to rock the combination of aesthetics which is synonymous with Furgus, high fashion and streetwear. T
