POST MALONE is hosting a NIRVANA tribute concert, for free! The grunge-rap superstar took to social media on Wednesday to announce the event, all in aid of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
It’s no secret the rapper is a fan of the band. Malone has a tattoo of frontman KURT COBAIN on his hand and has covered the bands songs multiple times during his shows; most notably during COACHELLA 2019. The concert will be held on Post Malone’s YouTube channel and will feature a mix of covers as well as Malone’s original material.
Kurt Cobain’s former wife, COURTNEY LOVE, has also spoken out about the concert; in a recent INSTAGRAM post she said, “thank you mighty kc for writing these songs with your elegant and monkeyed hands that the kids still want to sing and play and hear and use to fight and hunt and cure and heal and eradicate this fucking covid19 virus. I approve the usage . Good luck mr malone.”
The concert will be held on FRIDAY 24th (today) and during the concert fans will be able to donate to the solidarity response fund for the World Health Organisation. Google have also confirmed that they will match donations up to £4 million.
