JME96ofmylife

Self-made UK grime artist JME has dropped visuals for the track “96 of my life”, from his November 2019 album “Grime MC”. This track was one of the highlights of his latest album, which was very well received by the grime community for being topical, yet funny and witty.

The song depicts JME’s challenges and journey from a young teen to making it as a grime star and how he came to fame through being an independent artist from the underground. The music video shows us snippets of JME’s upbringing in Tottenham, North London and the lyrics are often tied with the images shown. JME raps ” that’s right JME didn’t pass through/Badman don’t need no ceremony, like Ryu on Street Fighter II,”; we see nostalgic images of JME playing Street Fighter II and him performing in his graduation gown.
