The Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, became heroic to some and infamous to others as he steadily grew into the left side of politic’s poster boy. This is exactly why it’s his worst nightmare to have multiple images depicting him in brownface emerging online.
Specifically, Trudeau became well known for calling out those who may have stepped over the line, despite multiple cases being highly-debatable, he has often been criticised for doing whatever it takes to keep the most vocal of critics at bay.
This is exactly why so many have been happy to pick Trudeau apart when it came to his recent scandal. Not only was he spotted in brownface, but can’t promise that there aren’t more images out there, something that is likely due to the fact that there were at least two reported instances, so far, of him doing it.
Similarly to this, a number of UK politicians have admitted to using weed – including past Home Secretary Jacqui Smith and the once drugs policy minister, Caroline Flint. Trudeau, Smith, Flint, and many others, all publicly denounce past actions, however, due to the unwillingness to forgive that is often present within the left, it will be interesting to see if any forgiveness is offered.
