Kendrick Lamar’s 2012 studio album, ‘good kid, m.A.A.d City’, became an immediate hit, securing Lamar’s reputation of tackling a wide array of political and humanitarian issues within his lyrics.
Well, it turns out that the album was destined to be even more significant than we first thought, breaking the record for the longest-charting studio hip-hop album. Specifically, the project written by a 25-year-old Kendrick just saw its 358th week on the Billboard 200, charting at No. 141.
Interestingly, Kendrick overtook Eminem’s ‘The Eminem Show’ in order to claim the title, something which was always going to happen since K Dots record got him four Grammy nominations, including Best Rap Album as well as Album of the Year.
