It was just last weekend that the British professional boxer that is Anthony Joshua lost all three of his IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles, a consequence of being knocked down four times by his Mexican-American opponent, Andy Ruiz Jr.

Specifically, the two faced off at short notice after Joshua’s original fight against Brooklyn’s Jarrell Miller until six-month suspension ruled him out. This was when Ruiz Jr, someone who was often ridiculed for his large shape, unexpected stepped up, later winning when the event after the referee called it in the seventh round.

As for what followed, Anthony made it clear that he wanted to trigger an immediate rematch for the unified heavyweight title. As of yet, not many other details are known about the fight, although Joshua-Ruiz II is currently rumoured to take place in either November or December with no venue set at the moment.
