The Italian engineer Pierluigi Nervi was responsible for creating some incredible structures, one of which was visually appreciated by the Israeli artist and architect, Ben Goldstein, as he filled Nervi ‘s stadium in Florence with water and invited figures from 18th-century Renaissance paintings to join.
Specifically, the numerous pieces of art included in Goldstein’s ‘Pool Pary’ project use black-and-white photographs of the building to contrast the faded yet colourful painted individuals that take the form of bathing women and cupids.
