The social media giants, Facebook, have started to display their own notifications via user’s Instagram accounts and it’s not going down well at all. Specifically, the recent update, which has only been rolled out over a portion of Instagram users, has seen a Facebook icon appear on people’s profiles, when it’s clicked on Facebook is launched, although if you haven’t linked your social media accounts together already you will be asked to do so again.
As for people’s reactions, many have called the update “annoying,” explaining that the two should never have been integrated. One user even had this to say: “Who told Facebook and Instagram they can integrate our notifications with one another? Like we needed another reason to flock to Twitter…” While others are more optimistic, saying: “At first I was annoyed that Facebook have added their notifications to my Instagram account, but now it means I don’t have to check Facebook at all unless I get a notification on Instagram! I don’t think that was their plan…”
I guess we will have to wait and see if the two decide to keep the integration and roll the update out across all users.
