The Portuguese professional footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, is arguably one of the most recognisable and famous athletes in the world, meaning that if you create a sculpture of the athlete it will likely be followed by a close inspection from millions of people all over the world.

This is in fact what happened after a bronze bust sculpture of Cristiano Ronaldo was unveiled at Madeira Airport in Portugal last March. However, his attempt to capture the football star didn’t go successfully.

Specifically, images of the sculpture flooded social media and news networks due to the rather hilarious-unsightly aspect of it, and although since then the artist behind the bust, Emmanuel Santos, produced a bronze statue of Ronaldo’s teammate, Gareth Bale, hoping to redeem himself, it apparently wasn’t enough.

However, Santos has been given another chance to recreate Ronaldo in bronze by Bleacher Report, who have recently challenged him to create the sculpture while they documented the process in an intimate documentary suitably titled “The Ronaldo-over.” If you are interested in watching the film you can do so below.
