Connie Inglis, 23, from Leeds, not long ago was given a matter of weeks to live after the severe anorexia she had struggled with since she was 10-years-old pushed her weight down to that of the average 5-year-old. However, during and after her recovery Connie started using social media to promote body confidence and encourage others who are suffering to go through the necessary recovery process.

Connie still remains inspiring her 91,000 followers and bringing light to issues she found along her path to recovery, one of which is the fact that many of the complications with eating disorders stem from the fact that the NHS doesn’t have enough of a budget to fund treatment for the underlying issues, stating that:

“It’s very annoying because it seems like if I’m not starving myself then no-one is going to take me seriously.”

“I didn’t really care about living or dying, I didn’t mind“

“I just wanted to lose all the weight. It had got to the point where being in the hospital wasn’t good enough, the only thing that would have been good enough was if my heart had stopped. That’s the only thing that would have satisfied my anorexia.”
