When Nike’s New York Twitter account tried to raffle two pairs of their own collaborative sneakers (the Air Prestos and Air Max 90s) on the 6th of November, 6pm EST, they ran into a whole load of problems. The link produced error pages, causing potential customers to miss out on the pair, further leading to followers slagging-off the company via the same social media platform.

Afterwards, a Nike representative stated:

“Due to technical issues caused by overwhelming demand for “The Ten” collection, we have made the decision to cancel the online draw. We apologize for any inconvenience. Those looking to purchase shoes from the collection will have the opportunity to do so via the Nike SNKRS app at a later date.”

However, the rep also explained that the products will still be available at their commercial partners and that the cancellation only affects raffles in North America, so European online draws are still expected to be fully working.
