Two unreleased collaborations between J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar have surfaced, thanks to a recent episode of Cole’s Inevitable podcast. The tracks, recorded in 2012 during Drake’s Club Paradise Tour, were shared by Cole and his manager Ibrahim “Ib” Hamad, offering fans a glimpse into the early creative synergy between the two hip-hop icons.

Cole revealed that the songs were created over a few days on a studio bus while the tour stopped in Fayetteville, North Carolina. One of the tracks was produced by Oddisee. Reflecting on the experience, Cole described it as a rare and exciting moment, saying, “It felt like when your cousin would come over to your house.”

The episode also explored Cole’s reaction to Lamar’s breakout success with good kid, m.A.A.d city. Cole admitted feeling both inspired and challenged by the album, which marked a turning point in his own career. “When Kendrick’s album dropped, the journey got harder, the mountain got steeper,” he shared, noting how Lamar’s achievements pushed him to elevate his ambitions.
