Dr. Martens and A-COLD-WALL* are long-running collaborators at this point. This is why it’s not too surprising that the duo have returned for one more drop before 2023. As for what to expect, the two have turned their focus to clean lines and distilled aesthetics.
A-COLD-WALL* founder, Samuel Ross, has established a functional angle to design, applying these design points to two of Dr. Martens’ most iconic silhouettes. Specifically, the collection consists of a black-on-black 1461 shoe juxtaposed against the monochrome white 1461 shoe and 1460 boot.
The pairs start with a double-height Bex sole, providing a strong foundation for the single-coloured upper above it. Most notably the laces have been abandoned and replaced with sleek front zips, while dual branding and all-white packaging round off the offerings.
