Vans have announced they will be releasing a collection with leading tennis ball manufacturer, Penn. Both brands began as rubber companies and are now the masters of their very different industries.
The collection is heavily inspired by tennis and features Vans’ historic prints and branding elements while maintaining the streetwear aesthetic. The three classic Vans silhouettes featured in the collection all feature the Vans ComfyCush sole. Leading the pack is the Penn Lowland CC, a ’90s skate-inspired silhouette, but with a slimmer profile. A throwback “Flying V” Vans logo and Penn-themed lace charms add a touch of retro flair. We also get the classic Vans Authentic. The Authentic is heavily 60s inspired, with vintage-inspired sidewall illustrations of tennis players on the court. Meanwhile, Vans’ Slip-On meets Penn’s signature yellow and orange colourway. The tennis ball-inspired uppers are embossed with Vans’ classic checkerboard pattern merging the best of the two brands.
We also get a collection of collaborative apparel, to accompany the shoes. The long sleeve tee features white and navy ringers with a tennis player graphic on the chest and Vans’ signature checkerboard down the sleeves. We also receive a checkerboard bucket hat, short sleeve tee and a half-zip jacket; which features navy-on-navy checkering.
The Vans X Penn collection is currently available from the Vans Website. You can check out the full collection below and be sure to subscribe to our newsletter, to never miss a drop again.
