Dr. Martens are kicking off their new year with a new collection in collaboration with the Keith Haring Foundation. The 1460 boot and the 1461 shoes have been decorated with some of Haring’s legendary pop art.

The 1460 boot has a smooth leather upper and has been detailed with black sketches of Haring’s characters and sketches; with the heel strip showcases a contrasting assortment of colourful figures. The 1461 shoes are also assembled with smooth leather and embellished with iconic Keith Haring imagery. The first pair pays homage to Haring’s angelicbaby designs, with white colouring, whilst the second pair have an instantly recognisable all-over print of bold black lines over a white background.

Dr. Martens spoke about the collaboration, saying “As part of a series of collaborations with radical artists, DM’s are shining a spotlight on Haring’s legendary artwork. The New York-based artist’s colourful, cartoonish graphics were deep-rooted in social activism. His publicly-minded pieces questioned authority whilst being accessible and upbeat. There was always more than met the eye.
