Fans of the UFC likely remember McGregor and Poirier stepping into the octagon back in 2014. However, despite 6 years passing and McGregor’s supposed retirement, the two are set to return in 2021.
Those who tuned into ‘UFC 256: Figueiredo vs. Moreno’ would have seen that at the end of the bout the fighting organisation teased the sought-after rematch. Specifically, the mixed martial arts company dropped an official trailer for the second matchup, you can view it below.
Since their 2014 fight in Las Vegas, the MMA athletes went their separate ways. McGregor became the UFC Featherweight and Lightweight Champion while Poirier became the Interim UFC Lightweight Champion and has since then remained a challenger in the division.
