For those who don’t know, Dr. Martens has been rolling out a number of collaborations this year. As for why, they are celebrating 60 years of their iconic 1460 boot.
Well, yet again we get a reworked take on the boot, this time coming from none other than the American fashion designer, Marc Jacobs. As for what Jacobs has done, the designer has tried to capture the DIY spirit that has become synonymous with the pair, given the long history of wearers customising their 1460s.
Specifically, the pair features an array of stones, charms and trinkets, all of which are wrapped around the boot using a bronze chain. Underneath this all lies a vegan version of the boot, not surprising given Jacobs’ sympathetic view on the use of animals within the industry. In another notable twist on the classic 1460 boot, Jacobs has worked with the vegan version of the boot. Last but not least, the pair land with a dual-branded tongue label and swing tag.
