22-year-old female tennis hero, Naomi Osaka, has teamed up with COMME des GARÇONS and Nike for a special Blazer shoe. Both, Naomi and COMME des GARÇONS share a Japanese heritage and the details of the shoe allow them to collaboratively share their love for Japan.
This iteration of the Nike Blazer features a white canvas upper, with a light grey print covering the whole of the shoe. The print is COMME des GARÇONS signature blocky Helvetica Neue font and alternates between Osaka’s name and COMME des GARÇONS. Overtop of this – and the swoosh – you can see the Tennis players signature and the words, “Home is where the heart is” in a think black, handwritten font.
Despite the mass amount of text on this shoe, it comes across in a surprisingly minimalist fashion. The white base, leather swoosh and heel piece are detailed with shaggy grey suede, around the base onto the toe complete the look of the shoe.
There has been no release date set for this shoe yet, but we expect to find out in the coming weeks. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter, to keep up to date with all of the latest drops.
