Legendary graffiti artist, Banksy, has made headlines again for painting a London Underground carriage with Coronavirus themed art. The elusive artist released a video entitled, “London Underground undergoes a deep clean”; showcasing a man is full PPE working on the carriage.
The artist has been taking to Instagram to document his time in lockdown and to commemorate the NHS staff working during this time. In the video, we see Banksy using his rat characters to emphasise the message of washing your hands and wearing a facemask, to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.
The clip was uploaded to YouTube and Instagram yesterday, with the caption, “If you don’t mask – you don’t get.” It currently has 3.7 million plays on Instagram alone and has received praise from the London Underground. You can check out the video below and let us know what you think of the work in the comments.
